History

The Taylortown Store was built in 1898 on the Waterloo Plantation by William Darius Mercer.
For over one hundred years, this community general store sold dry goods, clothing, and everything
from needles and thread, potatoes and pickles, to shovels and shoes…
Jim Mercer, great grandson of W.D. Mercer, has lovingly restored the building
into a unique setting for your special event.
